Having worked as a writer in both large and small medical communication agencies since 2007, I made the switch to become a freelance medical writer in 2016.

Before I became a medical writer, I studied at the University of Edinburgh, where I achieved a first class honours degree in Pharmacology with Industrial Experience. I then completed my British Heart Foundation-sponsored Ph.D which involved the study of novel nitric oxide-aspirin hybrid drugs for the treatment of heart disease.

I am an ISMPP-certified Medical Publication Professional and was invited to be a reviewer of the latest version of the Good Publication Practice Guidelines. I keep up to date with new developments in the pharmaceutical and communication industries and have completed ABPI training.

I have worked in a broad range of therapy areas from gastroenterology to aesthetics. Please see my therapy area experience for more details.

I have supported products launched in European, Global and Asian markets and have written for a wide range of target audiences. I have provided medical writing support for peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters and ebooks. I also have extensive experience in producing congress materials and have supported the development of physician training programs, strategic publication plans and patient support platforms.

I have helped conduct Delphi consensus meetings and have produced competitor intelligence reports, citation analyses and advisory board meeting reports for several global pharmaceutical companies.

I have a particular expertise in systematic reviews and have conducted several across a wide range of therapy areas. I recently presented a well-received paper demonstrating their value as part of a clinically focused publication plan.
